The evidence

What you can see for electricians

What a trade test can cover

  • Wire a circuit from a drawing
  • Terminate cables and connect a distribution board
  • Test continuity and insulation with the right instruments
  • Find and fix a fault safely

What employers often ask for too

  • Trade certificate or apprenticeship record
  • Work history on similar sites
  • Any electrical licence the destination requires

These are examples. The test is agreed for each role and employer, and availability is confirmed with you directly.

Trade tests

How a trade test works

  1. 1

    Book

Confirm the trade, requirements, worker consent and an available appointment.

  2. 2

    Test at a centre

The worker completes practical tasks in person using appropriate tools and safety procedures.

  3. 3

    Assessor scores

A human assessor records observations against agreed criteria and reviews the result.

  4. 4

    Report issued

A reviewed report brings together skills evidence, check status and any gaps.

  • Welders

Join metal to a drawing and a standard, in the process and position the job needs.

  • Plumbers

Install and repair pipework, fittings and drainage in buildings.

  • Masons

Build and finish brick, block and stone work to line and level.

  • Carpenters

Measure, cut and assemble timber for formwork, frames and fittings.

FAQs

Questions you may have.

How can I check that an electrician can do the job?

The worker completes practical tasks in person while a human assessor observes and records what they did. You review the evidence, along with check status and any gaps, and you decide who to hire.

Are the test tasks fixed?

No. The tasks on this page are examples. The test is agreed for each role and employer, and it does not replace a licence or certificate the destination requires.

Do workers pay for this?

No. SODH does not charge workers for skills verification or access to opportunities.

Can SODH guarantee electricians for my project?

No. Availability, corridors and timelines are confirmed directly with you, and visa or placement outcomes are never guaranteed.
